Dalmatian Makes a Comeback

Back in September, this 6-member boy group made a debut with "Round 1" and this February, they are back with a new Mini Album. This group contains 3 rappers and 3 vocalists with over five years of training experience. When Dalmatian first debuted, they wanted to sing about their goals and ambitions so they composed "Round 1" and sang about their dreams. Now, they are making a comeback with a new mini album titled "Dalmatian - The First Mini Album".

Dalmatian back in 2010 September

The name Dalmatian has a special meaning behind it. When this group was first formed, the members felt that being loyal to it's fans, family and people who support them was really important. The members knew that Dalmatian dogs were loyal to their owners, so as a result, they came up with the group name Dalmatian. The members consist of Inati (leader), Dari (rapper), DayDay (lead rapper), Young Won (vocalist), Jisu (main vocalist), and Daniel (youngest). Along with the name Dalmatian, their main colours are white with black spots, just like the dogs.

Currently, they are promoting two songs from this mini album titled, "Lover Cop" and "That Man Opposed". In "That Man Opposed", it talks about a guy's point of view and how he's depressed over a girl so he sings this song as a confession. The song starts with the man saying that he'll be contented if the girl's happy but he knows that she isn't because her boyfriend's cheating on her. He sings about how she will eventually get hurt and why she is being so foolish. The translated lyrics go like, "Why are you a fool and living your life being tricked. It's obvious that you're going to be played and end up crying in the end. Why do you love with your eyes closed and ears shut girl." The songs then goes on telling all the things that he'll do for her if she loved him and how much better he is for her.
This song is perfect for Valentine's Day since the lyrics talk about a sweet confession and the upbeat tune makes it livelier. The music is a mix between hip hop, rap, R&B and techno. Along with the upbeat music, the cute choreography makes the song all the more enjoyable. The choreography is not a difficult one to dance but the dance really stands out once there is a group moving to the music. One notable dance move is the "goodbye dance" during the beginning of the chorus. This song combines English with Korean lyrics and since a few of the members came from overseas, their English accent is not hard to understand.

"Lover Cop" is the second song that Dalmatian is promoting. This song is also about love, but it has a different point of view on things. The lyrics of this song tell how a man becomes his girlfriend's "lover cop" and he sings about how he will always be there for her. This song contains some similes and metaphors as the man compares their love to different objects. The choreography for this song is based on robot-like movements and the theme is more serious than "That Man Opposed". The previous song focused more on one-sided love and had a playful mood to the beat while "Lover Cop" focuses more on a couple and has more of a techno beat. Again, this song combines English with Korean lyrics as shown in the last lines of the song when they sing, "Always, I'll always be your lover cop."

Although Dalmatian has quite a big age gap with the youngest being 18 and the oldest being 29 years old, they are not affected by it. Instead, they work hard perfecting their choreography and work hard towards reaching their goals.
